The Wall of Death
The Wall of Death is an immersive experience design project exploring the psychological tension embedded in critical life decisions — moments shaped by vulnerability, ambiguity, and pressure. The experience is rooted in the concept of the "What ifff..." — those uncertain junctures in life where choices must be made, often without clarity or alternative, leading either to success or failure.
At its core, the project metaphorically uses Chess to represent decision-making. Participants navigate a series of sequential chess puzzles, each designed with intentional ambiguity to mimic real-life dilemmas.
Wrong moves lead to intense consequences — enclosing walls, disorienting lights, eerie ambient sounds, and a relentless countdown clock — all working together to amplify stress and evoke a visceral fight or flight response.
A correct solution offers momentary relief: the wall retracts, revealing a secret path forward. This balance between risk and reward challenges not just logic, but emotional and psychological resilience.
