The Fiddlers
“The Fiddlers” is my first exploration into designing an art installation that talks loud about my love for nature, design, and technology. It was created before I joined NID and became a meaningful step in my journey as a young designer. Inspired by the interactive motionworks of digital artist Daniel Rozin, this project helped me understand how movement, perception, and form can blend to create an engaging visual experience.
The idea emerged during a quiet moment on a Konkan beach while observing the gentle, rhythmic motion of fiddler crabs. Their collective behaviour, with thousands of crabs appearing, retreating, and waving a single large claw, felt like nature performing its own kinetic art. Capturing that sense of wonder through design became the heart of the project and shaped my early fascination with translating natural phenomena into creative expressions.
Tools Explored:
Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Rhino6, Laser Cutting Machine, Servo Motors and Ardiuni Controllers, Spray Painting and most importantly, "My Thoughts"
